8:44 a.m. Finance. The caller reported someone using their debit card to order $1,100 in items from Walmart. The caller stated two other charges were attempted but did not go through. The caller told police they only use the debit card to take out cash from the ATM. The caller stated they needed a police report to dispute the charges to their bank.
March 21
5:16 p.m. Property damage. First Street NE. The caller reported someone had keyed their vehicle sometime during the night. The caller believed one of their neighbors did the damage, due to a verbal argument over parking spaces the day before. Officers spoke with the neighbor who denied keying the vehicle and stated they try to keep their distance from each other. Officers spoke with management who stated there were no cameras on the building to see the incident. It is unknown when the incident occurred or who may have caused it.
March 24
7:45 a.m. Crash. 12th Avenue N./Fourth Street N. Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash. The driver of the first vehicle stated they were heading West on Fourth Street N., attempting to make a left turn. The driver stated they did not see another car and as they pulled out collided with a second vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle stated they were heading South on 12th Avenue N. and were struck on the driver’s side by the other vehicle. No one was hurt.
March 25
7:26 AM. Traffic stop. Second Street S. Officers were on routine patrol when they saw a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit. The officer stopped the vehicle and advised the driver of their speed. The driver also stated they did not have a license and were the only ones in the vehicle. Officers gave the driver a warning for speeding and a citation for an instruction-permit violation. The driver pulled the vehicle into a nearby parking lot to wait for a valid driver.
March 27
4:34 p.m. Animal complaint. Seventh Avenue S. Officers were called to a dog complaint in the area. The caller reported a dog barking in the area for an extended period, which has been an ongoing issue. Officers sat in the area and heard the dog bark briefly twice. With no ordinance violations, officers left.
March 28
5:10 p.m. Civil matter. The caller reported their ex was not dropping off the kids during their parenting weekend. The caller told police this has been a recurring event. The caller was advised this was a civil matter and should continue to follow the court orders in place, document and consult with their attorney.
March 31
11 a.m. Scam. The caller stated they had received a call from someone claiming to be with an agency in the Twin Cities and caller was told they must pay to solve civil damage through Venmo. Officers informed the caller this was a scam and that is not a method of how law enforcement would contact them. Officers advised the caller to block the number and to not answer any unknown numbers.
