No place to hide
I have received many e-mail forwards concerning this upcoming election. In fact I can think of no other election when I have received so much propaganda. Most of them warn of dire consequence if Obama is reelected. Many of them emphatically state his reelection would bring about the virtual end of the world. I believe his reelection would be dire and will bring about many ends, but not the end of the world.
What will end I think will be the viability of the Democrat Party and their liberal movement. When all of the feathers hit the fan that are being delayed intentionally, and they will hit the fan, the chances of any Democrat being elected again for many years will be a joke. There will be no place to hide. How would you like to explain the inevitable results of Obama’s war on success and the campaign to share the wealth and its aftermath? How would you like to tell your senior parents or grandparents that even though their costs have skyrocketed, they cannot get medical treatment or medication because they are just too old or too sick? How will you explain to the millions of unemployed that they will just have to tighten their belts because the jobs are not happening? No, I wouldn’t want to be a Democrat at that point.
The next thing that will end is any possibility of Iran being stopped. If you think the Middle East is a mess now, just wait. If we see another four years of Barak Obama, the entire region will explode. There will be no assistance for Israel. There will be no actions or sanctions against Syria, Yemen, Libya, Iran, or any of the Islamic dictatorships. Obama will be playing golf reminiscent of Nero and his fiddle.
China will continue to produce their cheap products and manipulate their currency without fear. As their economy grows, ours will continue to sink. As their demand for oil grows, the competition for energy will cause the price to go higher and higher. If you think gasoline is expensive now, just wait.
Concerning gun control. Many messages have been forwarded to me stating Obama will try to outlaw guns in America. That would be a problem. The reason is, even if he issued such an “Executive Order” calling for the abolition of private gun ownership, only liberals and college professors would even consider turning in their guns, oh, and they don’t own any. The vast majority of guns in the country are owned by people who would never turn them in under any circumstance. Any law which is unenforceable is a silly exercise. The Second Amendment insures that we will always be allowed to own and bear firearms. The primary reason for this amendment is to protect us not only from criminals but also to protect us from our own government.
There are some realities at work here that no amount of spin will change. We cannot continue to spend money the way we have these past few years. Unless this economy turns around, the revenue will just not be there and it is clear that Obama’s policies have not and will not work. No amount of political sloganeering or catchy phrases is going to change this reality. The concept of a bottom up economic recovery is as ridiculous as the individual who suggested it.
Democrats, and to a large measure the national media, pay attention. You will be held accountable for the mess that awaits this country. This might be a good time to figure out an exit strategy. Truly, there will be no place to hide.
