The classes range from fun to serious, from physical to cerebral, from artistic to technical – but all are easily accessible to anyone who lives in the Sauk Rapids-Rice School District.

Hundreds of classes are part of the Spring/Winter offerings of the Sauk Rapids-Rice Community Education Program, and there is literally something for everyone in the dizzying array of options to choose from. (For just one example, see related story about Civil War quilts in today’s paper).

A catalog with details about the program and its courses was mailed several weeks ago to all residents of the school district, but those who missed it or misplaced it can see the catalog online at www.isd47.org/ce.

The program is a living testament to the proposition that learning is a never-ending life process. There are many choices under the rubric of Adult Enrichment and Youth Enrichment. The classes include ones which cover health, music, photography, cooking, dancing, gardening, finance, fitness, math, family skills, life and safety and many arts-and-crafts skills.

Some of the classes cost $5 or slightly more, and some are closer to $100, but they were planned to be affordable for the average family’s budget.

To find out more, peruse the catalog and then register for one or more classes either online, in person or via mail.

The following are just a random sampling of the intriguing classes: Meditation; Self-Defense for Women; Sudden Infant Death Syndrome; Essential Oils as Therapy; First Aid; Life After Death of a Spouse; Beading and Jewelry; How to Make a Table Runner; Adult Piano Lessons; Beginning Spanish; Photography Skills; Defensive Driving; Introductions to Trips Abroad; Basic Cake Decorating; Ballroom Dance; Landscaping with Native Flowers and Grasses; Fly Casting; Tackling Your Debt; Estate Planning; Student Loan Issues and Options; Beginning Computers; Discovering iPad Basics; What’s Social Media All About?; Cyber Security; Staying Safe Online; Aqua Fitness; Aikido for all ages; Tabata; Pilates/Yoga; Chess; Babysitting Clinic; Guitar for Kids; Piano for Preschoolers; Fun Crafts for Children; Swimming Lessons (all ages); Dozens of indoor and outdoor recreation programs; Getting a GED; Early Childhood programs; School Readiness; and Good Parenting.

Check out the catalog online. Again its website is: www.isd47.org/ce.
