(from news release)
St. Joseph is getting ready to celebrate the Fourth of July in more ways than one – with a concert, a grand parade, fireworks, a quilt auction and lots of food and games.
Here’s a line-up of the events:
Thursday, July 3
At 5 p.m. there will be Bingo, food and refreshments on the grounds by the Catholic in downtown St. Joseph.
After a prayer and singing a vocal musical performance by students of the St. Joseph Catholic School, the JoeTown Rocks concert will begin in the huge parking lot across the street from the church. At 6:15, the concert will begin with music by the band MojoMouth, followed by Honey Suckle at 7:30 p.m. and the Killer Vees & Friends at 9 p.m.
At 10:15 the fireworks display will begin.
(Please note: To ensure a quality concert for guests, the concert set-up efforts require use of the entire parking lot until noon on July 3. Therefore concert-goers should not place their chairs on the parking lot (the concert site) before noon. Otherwise, those chairs will have to be removed.
Friday, July 4
At 10 a.m., the Grand Parade sponsored by the St. Joseph Lions Club will begin on downtown’s main street, Minnesota Street.
An hour later, at 11 a.m., there will be Bingo, games, food and refreshments on the parish grounds. The band Brent Fuqua & Friends will start at 11:30 a.m. followed by the annual Quilt Auction at 1 p.m. in the Catholic church and a raffle drawing staring at 3 p.m.
