The first of three ‘Movies in the Park’ nights was held June 24 at Millstream Park. Besides showing the movie The Boxtrolls, attendees were also encouraged to make box cars. The box cars were judged by St. Joseph Mayor Rick Schultz, St. Joseph Police Chief Joel Klein and Central Minnesota Credit Union’s St. Joseph Branch Manager Travis Moore. First prize was $30, second was $20 and third was $10. Prizes were awarded in a 2-8 age group, as well as a 9-12 age group. About 225 people turned out for the event and about two dozen competed in the box-car competition.
