Kylie Hedtke, a Sartell Sabres team dancer, scored a second triumph Oct. 18 by winning the 11th-grade division in the Miss Dance Team Minnesota competition at Eastview High School in Appleton.
Hedtke is a junior at Sartell High School.
She will now head to national competition in late March as a member of Miss Dance Team Minnesota. At that national event, dubbed Miss Dance Team Drill Team, a dance team from each state will compete for the national championship. This will be the second time Hedke will participate in the national event, having competed there last year also as a member of Team Minnesota.
Miss Dance Team Minnesota began in 2022 with only 40 dancers competing that year. Now there are 270 statewide school-team dancers who participate in the event.
Hedtke is a much-praised member of the multiple-award-winning Sartell Sabres Dance Team. Throughout the years, the team has won many times at the state level in the categories of “Jazz” and “High Kicks.”
Hedtke is also a member of the Sabres Dance Leadership Team, along with dancers Mia Larcom, Jillian Lee, Riley Quinn and Morgan Winters. The team’s head coach for many years has been Kelly McCarney.

Kylie Hedtke holds her winner’s award after her performance at the statewide Miss Dance Team USA competition Oct. 26 in Appleton. She will now go on to national competition in late March in California.
