
Traci Lafrentz of St. Joseph models her “Make it with Wool” creation that earned her first place in the adult, age 25 and over category, Nov. 16 in Ottertail, Minn. during the Minnesota Lamb and Wool Producers annual conferent. There were 30 entries in four age divisions along with Made for Others, Quilt/Afghan and Novelty categories using more than 150 yards of beautiful wool fabric or yarn to create their garments and other wool item. She also won first place in the Quilt/Afghan category. Lafrentz and the other 10 Minnesota winners now advance to the national competition Jan. 23-25 in Charleston, S.C, The purpose of the “Make It With Wool†contest is to focus attention on the beauty and versatility of wool and to encourage the use of wool fabric or yarn in sewing, knitting or crocheting fashionable garments. Contestants must use fabric or yarn of at least 60% wool. Beautiful wool prizes were awarded to each contestant. Glenette Sperry served as State Director for the contest.
