Plans for a proposed housing development received several approvals from the St. Joseph City Council this month.
City officials on March 15 approved a planned-unit development rezoning request to allow for townhomes, and a preliminary plat for the Villages at CSB. The Village at CSB – to be built at 37 County Road 121 – will consist of row homes, patio homes and two eight-plexes for those aged 55 and older. Collegeville Cos. has been working on the development for years, but a downturn in the housing market contributed to the delay of the project, developers said previously.
There are still some engineering issues that need to be addressed, but work has begun to address them and a developer’s agreement is being drafted, St. Joseph City Administrator Judy Weyrens said. The plan is for the city council to vote on the developer’s agreement and final plat for the project April 5.
