A North Branch man suffered severe leg injuries after being pinned under a tractor June 8 south of Sauk Centre in Stearns County.
On June 8, at 10:00 a.m., the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a farm accident in Getty Township. The caller advised that a man was pinned under a tractor that had rolled over. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office along with the Sauk Centre Police Department, Sauk Centre Fire/Rescue, Sauk Centre Ambulance, and Life Link Air Care were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival on scene, officers located a male victim identified as Eric Bergum, 51 of North Branch, on the ground with injuries to his leg. Deputies learned at the time of the incident, Bergum and others were attempting to back a tractor off a trailer. The trailer moved and the tractor rolled over backward while Bergum was operating it. Witnesses on scene were able to use a skid steer to lift the tractor off Bergum prior to arrival of first responders.
Bergum was transported to the Sauk Centre Hospital with severe leg injuries. Bergum was then transferred by Life Link to the St Cloud Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
