I would like to send a huge shout out to the Joe Boys’ Poker Run Organization!! On Sept. 18, they hosted an annual Bike Run and Fundraising Event at the LaPlayette in St. Joseph.
I want to thank the Joe Boys’ Poker Run Committee for their gift of generosity to myself and my family. It is an honor to be nominated and selected for this annual event. I was diagnosed with colon/liver cancer in September 2020. As I continue to fight my battle with cancer, your gift will help with the many doctor bills and the numerous trips to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. I am forever grateful and feel very blessed to be this year’s recipient. If you are interested in following my cancer journey, please visit ShelleyStrong on Facebook.
I also want to thank the 60+ donors who donated to the silent auction and raffle drawings, bar wwners and staff at the LaPlayette in St. Joseph, Corner Pub in Freeport, Sidewalk Bar in West Union, Doochies in St. Martin and Stoney’s in Rockville, Voigt Bus Service, Poker Run Riders, silent auction bidders, Holdingford Boy Scouts, my family, old friends, new friends and anyone else I forgot to mention. I don’t have the words to express the gratitude I have. To put on an event like this takes a lot of planning and work. I applaud everyone who had a role in pulling this event off. The day was so much fun and went by so fast. Much appreciation to all!!!
I also want to congratulate the Joe Boys’ Poker Run on their 10 year anniversary! They are growing every year. The Joe Boys is a great nonprofit organization and we are so proud to have them in our community. For more information on their organization, please visit their Facebook page.
