Congratulations to the Sauk Rapids-Rice Newsleader on its first year of publication! Working at a newspaper, one gets caught up in the weekly process of producing quality news for the three communities of Sauk Rapids-Rice, Sartell-St. Stephen and St. Joseph. It’s unbelievable how quickly time has passed since the first issue of the Sauk Rapids-Rice Newsleader was printed on Friday, May 1, 2015.
Since that time, the Sauk Rapids-Rice Newsleader has grown immensely expanding to Rice on June 19, 2015. Today, more than 10,250 households are reached, in addition to local businesses, including Coborn’s, Copper Lantern, Good Shepherd, Hardee’s, Hardware Hank, Old Creamery Cafe and Pine Country Bank which have Newsleader newsstands.
The staff at the Newsleaders would like to thank you, our loyal readers, for your continued support of our local publication. It’s a joy to interact with members from the thriving communities of Sauk Rapids and Rice. From stories such as “Who’s that dude in the pajamas? OMG, it’s Billy Gibbons!” to “Perkins in the Pines closes after 45 years,” we at the Newsleaders are dedicated to providing our audience with the most up-to-date news, infused with the light-hearted stories that give Central Minnesota it’s appealing small-town charm.
If you have any story tips or accounts you believe are worthy of publication, email us at news@thenewsleaders.com, or call 320-363-7741. We look forward to serving the Sauk Rapids and Rice communities for many years to come.

Happy First Birthday to the Sauk Rapids-Rice Newsleader!
