A new women’s clothing and accessory boutique, Hudson & Company, opened June 18 in the restored corner building at College Avenue and Minnesota Street in St. Joseph.
Hudson & Company is the fourth boutique location for Ann Hudson, of Sartell, who also owns NEAR + NORTH in Sartell, Nisswa and Wayzata.
In addition to clothing and accessories currently available, Hudson will expand the offering to include home decor and gift items from local artists and vendors.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this community and honored to occupy this beautiful, historic building right in the heart of St. Joe,” Hudson said.
The location, which got its start as Frank X. Timmer’s Saloon and General Store, was redeveloped and designed by Sartell resident Shannon Wiger of Shannon Wiger & Co.
“It has been both an honor and a joy to uncover the history of this important corner, and return this building to its original grandeur,” Wiger said. “During the journey of this renovation, so many have shared stories of this space, spanning over 120 years. It is clear that this building, from its earliest days in the late 1890s, was a place of community, deep pride and entrepreneurship. Once again, this historic building is home to a vibrant business and talented entrepreneur – with a warm, enthusiastic welcome from St. Joseph. Just as it was 123 years ago.”
