The human remains found Nov. 19 in Minden Township have been identified as those of missing person Timothy Strand of Wright County. Strand, 62 at the time of his disappearance, had been missing since 2019.
On Nov. 19, 2025 Benton County deputies were led to the discovery of human remains found on a wooded property in the 1500 block of East St. Germain Street in Minden Township. Benton County detectives collected the human remains and other evidence found at the scene with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. The human remains were transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification and determination of the cause and manner of death.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office was notified that the remains were identified as Timothy Scott Strand. Strand’s family had reported him as a missing person to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office in June of 2019. At the time of his disappearance Strand was 62 years old.
A determination of the cause and manner of Strand’s death has not yet been made.
This case remains an open and active investigation.
