The Tri-County Humane Society will host its annual “Companion Walk” fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 10 in Wilson Park in St. Cloud on the east side of the Mississippi River.

Dubbed this year the “Space Walk,” people and their pets will start gathering in the park at 9 a.m. The actual walk will begin at 10 a.m. and end at about 1 p.m.

Before and after the walk, there will be food and drinks, kids’ activities, vendors of pet-related items, a silent auction, prizes awarded and more fun events for pets and for people.

The annual Companion Walk is a major fundraiser every year for the TCHS. Money can be raised via pledge sheets and by walkers or others asking friends and acquaintances to donate. Donations can also be solicited via Facebook or at GiveMN.org.

Those who raise funds are eligible to win prizes depending on how much they raise. Prizes include a Space Walk T-shirt, a silicone phone wallet, items for pets, a cooler and a certificate for Santa Paws. The latter is an annual event (Nov. 17-20) at the TCHS during which a photographer takes photos of people and their pets for seasonal greeting cards.

For the Space Walk, the TCHS is still seeking more vendors and items for the silent auction. Call TCHS Manager of Fund Development Emily Prodinsky at 320-252-0896, ext. 14.

For more information on the various ways of raising funds for Space Walk (even if you cannot attend the event), visit events@tricountyhumanesociety.org.
