Once again, the Imagination Library program for children will get a boost during two progressive-dinner fundraisers in Sartell and St. Cloud.

In Sartell, the dinners will be served from 4:30-10 p.m. Saturday, April 22. The St. Cloud dinners will take place from 4:30-10 p.m. Saturday, April 15.

The dinners are a festive dining experience allowing guests to experience four-course “theme” dinners prepared by local chefs and hosted in a wide range of homes in both Sartell and St. Cloud.

After registering for a themed meal, guests will gather at a reception home for appetizers and drinks. After a short program, they will begin their “progression” by traveling to a first-course home, followed by a second-course home. They will then return to the first home to enjoy desserts.

The cost of the dinners is $150 per person and includes all appetizers, dinners, desserts and beverages. To purchase tickets, see list of dinner options at the end of this story, then call 320-223-7995.

Imagination Library is a program that encourages a love of reading by young children. Each month, every participating child receives a free, age-appropriate book in the mail from birth up to the child’s fifth birthday.

Locally, the program is available without cost to families who live in the United Way of Central Minnesota’s service area. The program is funded entirely by donations from families, corporations, grants and fundraisers – in particular the annual Imagination Library Progressive Dinner fundraiser. The local-area United Way is committed to funding books for 7,000 children.

The following are the themes of the dinners:

In Sartell

Spanish Roots, Elevated. Authentic and modern cuisine from MesoAmerica and South America.

The Beach Boys. The meal will take place during a “Surfin’ Safari” that will leave guests feeling “Good Vibrations” during the beach-inspired dining experience.

A Visit to the Outer Banks. Be transported to a small coastal town of North Carolina to enjoy local cuisine and a little mystery.

Cajun Feast. Get ready for southern hospitality as you enjoy Cajun, Louisiana cuisine on the bayou.

In St. Cloud

Oishii, Chef! Come explore the land of the rising sun!

Great Gatsby. You are cordially invited to step back in time to the roaring 20s. Don’t forget your most glamorous 1920s-inspired attire to attend this dinner in style.

Baseball & BBQ. So much more than peanuts and Cracker Jacks, this meal will be a home run.

Luck o’ the Irish. A tasty feast that will transport you all the way to the Emerald Isle.

Pool Party. Swimsuits required! This party kicks off with a dip in the hot tub and includes both the surf and the turf.

Caribbean Sunset. Join us  for a relaxing evening full of tropical treats and warm breezes.

There is one other dinner scheduled whose theme is yet to be announced.
