The Brainerd High School Varsity Football team invited the Sartell High School Football team to pray with them after the Sept. 19 game even though Sartell beat them 20-16.

It was a close game all night long. Both teams fought hard. The bleachers were packed with fans as it was Brainerd’s Homecoming and Brainerd was celebrating 50 years of dance for their Kixters with more than 100 dancers taking the field at half time.

Prior to this game, the Brainerd football team had a perfect 3-0 record and was ranked ninth in Class AAAAA by the Star Tribune as the team entered the halfway point of the regular season. They welcomed section foe Sartell to Don Adamson Field for homecoming.

Despite Brainerd’s loss, on one of their biggest nights of the year, they invited the Sartell team into a big team prayer at the end of the game.

“I witnessed something amazing on Sept. 19,” said  Katrina Bahen, an audience member. “It was so awesome and inspiring to see. God is good!”
