St. Joseph Farmers’ Market held Friday at Resurrection
The St. Joseph Farmers’ Market will be held again from 3-6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15 in the fellowship hall of Resurrection Lutheran Church, 610 CR 2, St. Joseph. Horszowski Trio to perform Jan. 23
The Chamber Music Society of St. Cloud is pleased to present the Horszowski Trio playing music by Beethoven, Schumann and Joan Tower, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23 at First United Methodist Church, 1107 Pinecone Road S., Sartell. Volunteers needed at Kennedy
Kennedy Community School, 1300 Jade Road, St. Joseph, needs volunteers to support new Kennedy students who are not yet proficient in English.
Volunteers, ages 18 or older, will support students K-8 who are new to the school, working one-to-one to support math or reading skills with students. Volunteers are needed between 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday, serving two-four hours once per week.

Sacred Heart hosts open house Jan. 30
An open house will be held from 6-7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30 and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31 at the new space at Sacred Heart Church, 2875 10th Ave. NE, Sauk Rapids. Area corn growers meet Jan. 21 in Duelm
The annual meetings of the East Central Irrigation Association and Benton/Sherburne Corn Growers will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, January 21 at Jack and Jim’s Entertainment Center in Duelm, Minn.
The morning informational program will start at 9:30 a.m. with topics which include: soil-water-monitoring technology; farm-program updates; how new nitrogen-management plans might affect you; a legislative update; buffers, water and nitrogen; and a nutrient-issues update.

Barneløpet held Jan. 24 in St. Cloud
The ninth annual Barneløpet will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24 at Riverside Park, 1800 Kilian Blvd. SE, St. Cloud. This is a free event and children ages 3-13 are welcome. The events are organized based on age and ability levels. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served amid a festive atmosphere complete with plenty of food along with demonstrations and samplings of Norwegian treats and music.

SCSU workshops to assist students with financial aid
St. Cloud State University will provide three free professional workshops to help assist students preparing and applying for financial aid. The dates are: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28; 1-4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26; and 1-4 p.m. Friday, March 28. All workshops are held at room 206/207 in the Miller Learning Resource Center on the campus of SCSU, 400 Sixth St. S., St. Cloud.
Attending students can register to win a $500 educational award. The event is free and open to the public.
Ethics, liturgy lecture set at Collegeville Institute
The Collegeville Institute is sponsoring a lecture at 7:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21 entitled, “Bridging the Divide: Liturgy and Ethics in an Era of Polarization.” It will be held in the Quadrangle Building, Room #264, at St. John’s University, Collegeville. Man Up Minnesota
Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking to recruit 100 Men in 100 days. By April 9, they need 100 men to volunteer as Big Brothers. There are currently 80+ boys on their waiting list with the majority of them who want and need a male mentor in their life. The number continues to grow. Guys, they are asking you to Man Up and be a Mentor. Big Brothers Big Sisters is not minimizing the powerful role women play as role models. In fact, women make up approximately 65 percent of the active matches in Central Minnesota and more than 75 percent of prospective volunteers are women. Foster Grandparent program
January is National Mentoring Month, and the Foster Grandparent Program needs mentors for youth in our community. The Foster Grandparent Program, a program of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud, is looking for volunteers ages 55 and older to mentor children. Volunteers are needed in schools in District 742, Cold Spring and Avon, as well as after-school programs and the St. Cloud Children’s Home. Volunteers to help with tax returns
Tri-CAP’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program offers free tax-preparation services to low- to moderate-income people (Individuals earning less than $30,000/year, Families earning less than $53,000/year) who need assistance in completing their tax returns. Volunteers receive free IRS-certified training to prepare basic tax returns in communities across the country which is a great asset on a resume. The Tri-CAP Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites are located in Stearns, Benton and Sherburne counties and offer free e-filing. Volunteers provide a friendly caring walking escort or wheelchair transport for patients and guests throughout the facility. Volunteers work as a team to complete errands and deliver flowers, mail and packages to patients at St. Cloud Hospital.
