Sept. 9
1:40 a.m. Public urination. Minnesota Street W. While driving on Minnesota Street W, an officer observed two men who appeared to be urinating in bushes at 121 Minnesota St. W. The two men were called out and one ran. The officer approached the other one, Peschel, and he admitted to officer he was urinating. He was issued a citation for public urination.
6:51 p.m. Speeding. Minnesota Street E./16th Avenue SE. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Minnesota Street E near 16th Avenue SE and observed a vehicle that appeared to be traveling faster than the posted speed limit of 30 mph. The officer activated radar and it provided a reading of 50 mph with a consistent tone. The driver said he wasn’t paying attention to his speed because he was adjusting his seat. He was issued a citation for 50 mph in a 30-mph zone and was explained the citation. He admitted he had received a citation recently for 90 mph in a 70-mph zone.
Sept. 10
5:35 a.m. Parking violations. Second Avenue NW. While on patrol by 25 Second Avenue NW, an officer saw three vehicles parked on the grass. They were issued parking violations.
Sept. 11
2:11 a.m. Stalled vehicle. CR 75/Cedar Street E. An officer saw a tractor trailer on the shoulder of the westbound lane. Driver stated the tractor was not shifting correctly. The officer was going to try to get it back to St. Cloud.
11:35 p.m. Park violation. CR 75 W. An officer observed approximately a dozen people playing basketball at Mill Stream Park and advised the group parks close at 10 p.m. They asked if they could finish; the officer advised them to leave immediately and they did.
Sept. 13
12:17 a.m. Burglary. Iverson Street W. The complainant reported she believed someone was in her house. She stated the patio door was open and her “booby traps” were moved. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with complainant and her friend. They stated they left the house at 7 p.m. and came home around 11:45 p.m. Complainant stated they came home, noticed the “booby trap” was moved, went inside and turned on the lights. They turned the lights on downstairs but the friend heard a thud from upstairs. That is when they went outside and called the police. Complainant stated there are two people who were previously allowed to stay there, who have keys, but no longer live there. When attempted to make contact with them there was no answer. Their car was also not in the driveway. Officers then cleared the residence and did not locate anyone inside. That info was passed along to complainant and she was advised the patio had been re-secured. Officers advised complainant to call if she noticed anything else suspicious. Officer were assisted by Steans County Sheriff’s Office and Avon police.
Sept. 14
3:43 p.m. Two-car crash. CR 75/CR 2. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the parties involved. Driver #1 stated he was westbound on CR 75 near the address of 11037 CR 75 when he was slowing down in the left lane. Driver #1 stated he observed the car behind him not stopping and that is when he got rear-ended. Driver #2 stated he was following driver #1 when driver #1 slowed because cars in front of him were turning. Driver #2 stated that is when he rear-ended driver #1. Both drivers stated they were wearing their seat belts and no airbags were deployed. Neither driver stated they had injuries. Vehicle #2 was towed due to damage.
Sept. 15
10:05 p.m. Motorcycle in ditch. Ridgewood Road/Ridgewood Court. An officer was eastbound on routine patrol and observed a motorcycle with red and green lights in the ditch. When the officer turned around they observed a man in the ditch, lying down, and moving. Motorcycle rider complained of left leg pain, dizziness and nausea. The officer held c-spine for rider who later refused to be transported by ambulance. Motorcycle rider then received a ride from his friend and the motorcycle was towed to their lot.
Sept. 16
12:28 p.m. Road-rage complaint. CR 75/CR 133. The complainant reported a black truck with a trailer that said “Unique Movers” cut him off and threw something at his vehicle. The vehicle continued eastbound on CR 75 and was stopped by Waite Park police. Complainant did not need a callback, only wanted incident reported.
