June 24
4:14 p.m. Parking complaint. Pheasant Crest Loop. Officers were on patrol when they came across a vehicle parked in a fire lane, directly in front of the No Parking Fire Lane sign. Officers issued a ticket for the parking violation and placed it on the windshield.
June 27
12:34 a.m. Traffic stop. CR 1/CR 120. Officers conducted a routine license-plate check and learned the registered owner had a revoked driving status. Officers initiated a traffic stop and spoke to the driver, who was the registered owner, about their driving status. The driver was not aware their license was revoked. Officers issued a citation for driving after revocation and asked if they’d wait in a nearby parking lot for a valid driver.
June 28
4:18 p.m. Suspicious incident. The complainant stated their son had a suspicious text message that stated where they lived and the type of vehicles they drive. The caller said there was nothing threatening about the text, but the detailed information was concerning. Officers called the number but did not get an answer. Officers stated they’ve had similar text messages and believed them to just be junk or scams. The caller was advised to report the message as junk. As a precaution, the caller requested extra patrol around their residence.
July 1
7:21 p.m. Fireworks. First Street NE. The caller reported aerial fireworks were being lit off in the area. Officers drove around and did not see or hear any fireworks in the area and cleared. Officers responded to several fireworks complaints throughout the 4th of July.
July 2
10:39 p.m. Suspicious incident. Riverside Avenue N. Officers were doing routine patrols of the city parks when they observed four juveniles quickly running in the grass and crouching down to hide. Officers identified themselves and spoke with the group. The group of kids were warned about curfew and the park hours and were asked to leave.
July 6
7:46 p.m. Traffic stop. CR 120. Officers were on routine patrol when they saw a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit. The officer initiated the traffic stop and spoke with the driver, who was unaware of their speed. The driver also stated they recently bought the vehicle, and it was still registered with the previous owner. Officers issued a citation for speeding.
