Readers for the Blind
Central Minnesota Audio Newspapers provides volunteers to read area newspapers for the blind or visually or print disabled. This organization was started as Central Minnesota Newspapers for the Visually Impaired in 1995 through the efforts of Mrs. Brendon McDonald, wife of then SCSU President Brenden McDonald. Are you looking for an opportunity to help the blind or print disabled receive local news? Become a volunteer with Central Minnesota Audio Newspapers and read newspapers over a closed radio network which is part of the Radio Talking Book Network. Read one or two evenings a month. Schedule is flexible. A one-year commitment is desired. Volunteers must pass an oral reading test. Contact Rita at 320-293-2273 or ritawoeste@gmail.com.
