Four Sartell graduating seniors received scholarships from the Sartell St. Stephen Education Foundation at the Sartell St. Stephen High School Awards Night. They are the following: Bennett Prose (SSEF Community Service Scholarship -$1,500); Oliver May (SSEF Science and Technology Scholarship – $1,500); and Greta Crandall and Avery Shosted (David and Alice DeZurik Scholarships – $1,000 each).

Sartell-St. Stephen Education Foundation awarded $54,571 in grants this school year, supporting programs for all District 748 students from early childhood through 12th grade. This record-breaking amount surpasses the 2020-21 total and brings SSEF’s cumulative funding since 2005 to more than $500,000 for approximately 300 innovative projects.
Carl Vonkepler Levelwind of Sartell was recently named to the spring president’s list at Central Lakes College, Brainerd and Staples. Students must earn a minimum grade-point average of 3.75 to qualify for this honor.
Rayanne Ahmed of Sartell was recently named to the spring dean’s list at Central Lakes College, Brainerd and Staples. Students must earn a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 to qualify for this honor.
Pamela Bacon was recently appointed as the new provost of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Bacon joins Luther after a distinguished career as a professor and administrator at the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University in St. Joseph.
Alivia Nieters of Sartell was recently named to the spring chancellor’s list for high academic achievement by the University of Minnesota Rochester. Students must earn a minimum grade-point average of 3.666 to qualify for this honor.
Six Sartell students have been named to the spring dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. They are the following: Rachael Fuchs, Megann Jobin, Hailey Kovacs, Tia Leen, Emily Schlangen and Ashlyn Swanson. Students must earn a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 to qualify for this honor.
Elana Hanson of Sartell was recently named to the spring dean’s list at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Fergus Falls. Students must earn a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 to qualify for this honor.
Pinecrest of Country Manor and Kids Crest Childcare & Learning Center, a new senior living ‘lifestyle-campus,’ recently announced its official groundbreaking. It’s scheduled to open in the fall of 2026. The very first shovels went into the ground on the new 54-acre property, located off Beaver Dam Road in Brainerd.

Three Sartell students were recently named to the spring dean’s list at South Dakota State University, Brookings. They are the following: Emma Arneson, Alexandra Boschee and Olivia Torgrimson. Students must earn a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 to qualify for this honor.
Two Sartell students were recently named to the spring president’s honor roll at Bemidji State University. They are the following: Tory Lund and Hailey Zunker. Students must earn a minimum grade-point average of 4.0 to qualify for this honor.
Two Sartell students were recently named to the spring dean’s list at Bemidji State University. They are the following: Ethan Kutzorik and Danica Sarff. Students must earn a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 to qualify for this honor.
Dr. Brian Valentini, an associate professor of special education at St. Cloud State University, has been appointed by Gov. Tim Walz to the Minnesota Statewide Independent Living Council. The Council provides statewide planning and policies necessary to provide independent living services to people with disabilities.
