Class of 2002 sets 20-year reunion
The Class of 2002 announces its upcoming 20-year reunion on Saturday, July 16.
Plans for the day include a gathering for families at Northside Park in Sartell from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Bring the kids and reconnect with old friends while shooting hoops, bumping volleyballs or simply kicking back and relaxing. Bring a lawn chair and let’s enjoy the summer weather together!
Later that evening, classmates will gather for a private event beginning at 6:30 p.m. at The Upper Deck, 38440 55th Ave., Sartell. Be ready to reminisce as we watch our senior video, enjoy some drinks, eat some late-night pizza and catch-up with ones we may have lost touch with throughout the years.
Class of 2002, hope to see you there!
Volunteer at TCHS
Volunteers are essential to everything they do at the Tri-County Humane Society! Shelter volunteers provide hands-on animal care such as cleaning, grooming, exercising and socializing the animals while they wait for their new homes. In addition, volunteers assist with kennel cleaning, general housekeeping and customer service. They could not save the lives they do without volunteers!
Other volunteer opportunities include dog walking, surgery assisting, animal photography, office work/data entry, Re-Tail Revisited shifts, yardwork, building maintenance, fundraising events, humane education and committee work. If you have a special skill or trade you feel may be beneficial to their shelter, please share it. Wherever your talents lie, TCHS welcomes you! Provide rides to medical appointments
TriCap volunteers provide rides using their own private vehicles to the residents of Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Mille Lacs and Morrison counties. Passengers are assigned to volunteers by the Tri-CAP dispatch center and may be traveling to medical appointments or a variety of other destinations. Volunteer drivers are reimbursed at the Federal IRS rate and may also be eligible for some meal reimbursements. To quote one of our volunteers “It’s a good feeling being a volunteer driver.” Call for an application if you would like to help provide this vital community service. Drivers needed to deliver Meals on Wheels
Become a Meals on Wheels driver! Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud is in great need of drivers in the St. Cloud area. Meals are picked up at Whitney Senior Center and drivers deliver 8-12 meals on average. Volunteers practice non-contact delivery and deliver a week’s worth of meals to each senior. Meals are delivered Mondays and Wednesdays with a pick-up time between 10:30-11:45 a.m. If you would like to volunteer as a driver, visit www.ccstcloud.org/volunteer or volunteer@ccstcloud.org or 320-650-1645 for more information.
Provide supportive care
Are you passionate about helping people? Consider becoming a direct care support volunteer for Opportunity Matters!
DCS volunteers receive extensive training to become essential players of the OMI team. After training, you will have the opportunity to provide hands-on assistance to the individuals they serve by helping them with their program goals, assisting with tasks of daily living, or taking them out into the community for an afternoon of fun. Direct care support volunteers help out at least two hours, three times monthly and are asked for a three-month commitment.
Volunteer during the day, evening or weekend or as your schedule allows. Opportunity Matters is a non-profit organization that provides residential care, short-term crisis services, respite care, adult day and supportive living services to people with developmental disabilities. Contact Rhonda, Opportunity Matters, at 320-240-1900 or rhondas@opportunitymatters.org.
