A single-vehicle rollover sent a female driver to the hospital via Life Link on July 19 northeast of Brooten.
On July 19, 2025, at approximately 7:15 p.m., the Stearns County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call with an automated message saying there was a vehicle crash on CR 27 near 297th Street in North Fork Township. This intersection is approximately five miles northeast of the city of Brooten.
Stearns County Deputies arrived moments later to find a white 2023 Jeep Compass rolled over in the nearby ditch. The driver, and sole occupant, was identified as Ashley Kate Trustheim, 27, of Edina. Trustheim said she was going south on CR 27 when she entered the northbound ditch, struck a field approach and rolled upon landing. The front and side airbags of the Jeep deployed during the impact. Brooten Fire Department and Glacial Ridge (Brooten) Ambulance arrived shortly after and took over care. Life Link III landed on the scene and later transported Trustheim to the St. Cloud Hospital.
