A Burnsville man was arrested during a drug bust in Sartell after a search warrant was served March 21 at a home in the 100 block of LeSauk Drive.

The warrant was the result of part of an ongoing investigation of the distribution of methamphetamine in the area. The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force carried out a search warrant.

During the search, authorities found suspected methamphetamine in the home and arrested 41-year-old Brett Otterman. He was taken to Stearns County Jail, where he remains. He faces charges that include first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

The CMVOTF is made up of investigators from the Sartell and St. Cloud police departments, as well as deputies from Stearns, Benton, Sherburne and Morrison counties.

Other drug bust

In another drug arrest on March 10 in St. Cloud, the CMVOTF arrested a man in the 1600 block of University Drive in southeast St. Cloud. During the warrant search, authorities found methamphetamine and also seized 4,800 pills suspected to be potentially lethal fentanyl pills.

Arrested was Luis Garcia, 40, of St. Cloud, for fifth-degree sale of a controlled substance. He was also charged with one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance. Garcia is currently being held in the Stearns County Jail.
