April 16
6:26 a.m. Deer vs. car. CR 120. Officers were called to a deer vs. vehicle crash near Sta-Fit. The driver stated two deer came out of nowhere and they did not have time to hit their brakes and struck the deer. The crash caused damage to the front right corner of the vehicle, but no one was hurt.
April 18
11:37 p.m. Dispute. Pinecone Road. Officers were called to an unwanted person at the property. Officers arrived and learned the individual was uncooperative and had been drinking. Staff on scene did not want to press charges but wanted an officer on scene until their ride arrived.
April 19
8:34 p.m. Burglary. 14th Avenue E. The caller reported they were in their storage locker and noticed some items missing from inside. The caller stated they had not been in their storage locker since November, but believed an old acquaintance may have broken in. Officers questioned several inconsistencies with the complainant’s story. Officers spoke with the property manager who stated the locker was locked until the owner requested he remove the lock earlier that morning. Officers believe if a theft occurred it was before November or after the lock was removed by management. Officers called the complainant and informed them of what management told them.
April 20
7:16 p.m. Noise complaint. Third Street NE. The caller reported hearing music coming from a couple blocks away and wanted the neighbors to quiet down. The officer arrived, but did not hear anything. Officers spoke with the individual who stated they were playing music because they got a new speaker. They agreed to keep it down and would apologize to the neighbor for the noise.
April 22
10:58 a.m. Finance. Eighth Avenue N. The victims stated they have a shared account holder with his son’s account, and his son had received several calls from someone impersonating a bank employee. The suspect stated the account was compromised and asked for account information. Shortly afterward, the complainant noticed unauthorized transactions on the account. The complainant called the bank and told them of the fraud and closed the accounts. The victim requested a police report so the bank could investigate the fraud case further.
April 24
1:26 a.m. Citizen contact. Riverside Avenue N. Police were on routine patrol when they noticed a vehicle parked at Watab Park after hours. The officer spoke with the driver who said they were finishing fishing on the river. Officers told the individual the park was closed.
April 27
4:04 p.m. Theft. 21 CR Road 120. The complaint said they left their wallet in a shopping cart when they left the store. The caller reported it to the store staff, who then called the police stating their video showed another person finding the wallet in the cart and leaving. Officers were able to identify the suspect based on surveillance video and contacted the individual. While speaking with officers, the suspect claimed there wasn’t any cash in the wallet, but was informed they would be charged if they did not give the money back. The money and wallet were both returned to the victim.
