April 1
7:58 a.m. Traffic stop. Officers were on routine patrol when they spotted a vehicle with expired registration. Officers made a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, who stated the vehicle belonged to her brother and they were borrowing it. The driver was given a verbal warning and driver said she would tell her brother to take care of the registration today.
April 2
1:38 p.m. Crash. Pinecone Road/Central Park Boulevard. Officers were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash. The driver stated they were heading south on Pinecone Road and slid on the snow-covered roads and struck a stop sign. The vehicle sustained minor damage and the driver wasn’t hurt.
April 5
9:29 a.m. Dispute. 10th Street N. Officers were called to a verbal dispute. The caller reported having a verbal argument with their father, and stated his father doesn’t understand him. Things calmed down as officers were there and all parties spoke at length about the situation and about sympathizing with each other. Nothing physically occurred and officers cleared.
April 7
1:16 p.m. School bus cross-arm violation. Roberts Road. The report stated the vehicle failed to stop at the flashing red lights, however no children were outside the bus. Officers were able to call the owner of the vehicle who committed the violation. The owner stated their daughter was driving the vehicle and would talk to her about the complaint and the importance of school-bus safety.
April 10
4:04 p.m. Burglary. 20th Avenue S. The complainant stated someone had entered the home and stole staging furniture and décor. The caller stated they came to the house for a showing, and saw mud tracked through the main floor and muddy tire tracks in the garage. The caller told police the home was locked and the only way in would have been by using the lock box. Officers asked for a list of missing items and an estimate. No suspects currently.
April 12
10:23 a.m. Finance. 19th Avenue N. The complainant came into the police department and stated they were currently on the phone with someone saying they were from Stearns County and had missed their grand jury court date. The complainant said the caller on the phone told them they needed $85,000 and to go to a nearby gas station with the money. Officers took the phone call and identified themselves with the caller, who hung up. No money was lost, and officers advised the complainant to block the phone number.
April 13
8:58 a.m. Vagrancy. Victory Avenue. Officers were called for an individual sleeping by the dumpsters. Officers arrived to find the individual, who stated they were sleeping and was getting ready to leave. The man asked for a ride to a nearby shelter, to which officers assisted with.
