Stamp Out Hunger set Saturday, May 10
The National Association of Letter Carriers’ food drive is just around the corner! Remind your family, friends and neighbors to leave a bag of nonperishable food by their mailbox on Saturday, May 10, and letter carriers will handle the rest. All donated food in the St. Cloud area stays within our community and helps Catholic Charities, The Salvation Army food shelves and your local participating food shelf.
Community celebration set May 17 at Apollo
St. Cloud Area School District, in partnership with United Way of Central Minnesota and other community organizations, will host a year-end celebration from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at Apollo High School.
The event will feature student performances, professional artists, cultural music and dance, family workshops, interactive art activities and a “Walk of Fame” showcasing the district’s many valued community partners.
A highlight of the day will be a public recognition of Superintendent Laurie Putnam, recently named Minnesota Superintendent of the Year. This celebration will also serve as a heartfelt thank you to the St. Cloud area community for its support in the successful passage of the Apollo High School bond referendum – a shared investment in the future of students and schools.
The event is free and open to the public. Complimentary food will be available for all attendees.
