A group of St. Joseph kids played an impromptu game of hockey at Memorial Park’s ice rink at 28 Third Ave. N.W. About 50 people came down for the open house for the new warming house, which was built with $10,000 in donations from the St. Joseph Lions.

About 50 people made it down to the new warming house’s open house on Jan. 30. From left to right are Park Board member Troy Gorake, Public Works Director Terry Thene and Park Board member Andy Deuhs. The shelter is insulated and offers a nice escape after you’ve been on the ice or sledding for awhile.

Jake Killam, 6, son of Michelle and Matt Killam, St. Joseph, went sledding with several kids Jan. 30 at the open house for the new warming house. They were also able to enjoy cookies and hot chocolate.
