Dennis (Dalman), I find it comical that you shed a tear for the ending of the Northstar line because of low ridership. Yet you yourself only rode it TWICE in 14 years! Why only twice? Could it be that you don’t care for downtown Minneapolis? Was it that much of a hassle to drive 15 minutes to Big Lake to catch the train? You could have easily rode the bus from St. Cloud to Big Lake. Did you?
Your side wants to keep funding this boondoggle regardless of the financial loss. My side saw this day coming in 2008. You’re delusional to think if the train would have been extended to St. Cloud it would be financially viable. Minnesota is not New York or Chicago. We’ll never support commuter rail service because it just doesn’t align itself with outstate Minnesota.
