Open Gym set Sundays, Tuesdays
Open Gym is held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sundays and from 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays at Kennedy Community School, 1300 Jade Road, St. Joseph. $2 fee. Come play basketball, volleyball or soccer. Bring your own equipment.
Free bus rides on Veterans Day
On Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11, Metro Bus invites all veterans and active military members to enjoy free rides on all Metro Bus services. Fixed Route, ConneX and Northstar Link customers must show their military ID upon boarding. Dial-a-Ride customers should notify Metro Bus of veteran or active military status when scheduling rides and be prepared to show ID when boarding. Metro Bus honors the sacrifices made by veterans and their families to protect our country! Metro Bus is proud to employ many veterans and active-duty military members as well as military spouses and to provide service for veterans throughout our community. Service-connected veterans also receive free rides on Fixed Route buses every day with proper identification.
County ski patrol sign up underway
Registration for the volunteer Stearns County Parks Ski Patrol continues until patrols commence on Dec. 1. Patrols conclude on Feb. 28. Participating parks are Kraemer Lake-Wildwood, Warner Lake, Mississippi River County Park and Quarry Park & Nature Preserve. There are a variety of days and times available for ski patrol shifts, which are in two-hour increments. Submission of a Ski Patrol Report within 24 hours of your second completed volunteer shift results in a Quarry Park annual parking permit absolutely free from the Stearns County Parks Department.
