Aug. 24
1:34 a.m. Noise complaint. 300 block of Fourth Avenue SE. The complainant stated there was very loud music coming from that address. An officer checked the area on the road in front of the house but did not hear or see anything or anyone. They drove through the apartment parking lot in back and did not hear anything.
Aug. 26
2:21 p.m. Medical. First block of 20th Avenue SE. Staff member having difficulty breathing after working with and around latex paints. Mayo ambulance arrived on scene moments after the officer and treated her and transported her to the hospital. No action on the officer’s part.
Aug. 28
12:03 p.m. Suspicious activity. 800 block of Third Avenue SW. Complainant called because he said he saw suspicious activity on his camera. Camera points south on Third Avenue SW toward Iverson. Car came off Iverson and parked on Third Avenue SW. at about 1:30 a.m. Car sat there for three hours. At 4:30 a.m., another car came down Third and parked next to the other vehicle. Shadows of someone getting out of one of the cars could be seen. Within a couple of minutes both vehicles left the area.
Aug. 31
10:08 p.m. Fireworks. Iris Lane E./Second Avenue NE. Dispatch to a fireworks call. Officers heard and saw the fireworks just prior to the call being sent out. Upon arrival, no more fireworks were launched. It’s believed they were coming from the 100 block of Iris Lane E. Officers sat in the area to confirm but no more were fired.
Sept. 1
2:59 a.m. Unwanted person. 200 block of Second Avenue NW. Dispatched to an unwanted at Kwik Trip West. Staff stated there was a man whohad been in the bathroom for more than an hour. An officer arrived on scene, and while speaking with staff the man came out of the bathroom. Staff stated they wanted him to pay for his food and leave, but not escorted off premises. The officer informed the man of this. During the interaction, the man was very agitated and kept asking if the officers were going to shoot him. The man paid for his food and left.
Sept. 5
8:43 p.m. Medical. 500 block of First Avenue NW. Dispatched to a woman who had fallen. An officer arrived and found the woman on the floor inside the front door. The officer was able to pop the window and gain entry into the house. Assisted SJFD with getting woman to her feet. She asked officers cancel Mayo.
Sept. 7
5:08 p.m. Suspicious activity. 2050 Jasmine Court. While patrolling, an officer checked the doors, as there were no vehicles in the parking lot. Officers located an open door and announced themselves. The owner was inside. The officer informed him they often check doors outside normal business hours. No issues.
Sept. 9
3:51 p.m. Found property. 17 College Avenue N. Staff at Gary’s Pizza called in found property. They located a brown Nautica wallet on the floor with several Bell Bank credit cards, Lakes Area student ID, and a Casino Rewards card inside. All belonged to the same person. There was also a fake ID inside belonging to someone else. An officer attempted multiple phone numbers for the owner but had no luck. Wallet will be entered into evidence as found property. The fake ID will be entered to be destroyed.
Sept. 12
8:31 a.m. Threats to self. 1900 Centracare Circle. Made contact with a man who stated he was upset Centracare cancelled his surgery. He stated he made the comment about shooting his leg out of anger and doesn’t want to harm himself. Two officers spoke with him for awhile to let him vent. Once he was calm, the officers cleared from the scene.
Sept. 13
8:17 a.m. Verbal dispute. 1000 block of College Avenue S. An officer was dispatched to a dispute in the parking lot of Joetown Apartments for a man and a woman arguing in a car. The anonymous caller reported there was lots of yelling and door slamming. Arrived on scene and located the parties who were smoking a cigarette and talking calmly at this point. They said it was only verbal and nothing physical. They agreed to keep calm and civil.
Sept. 15
1:49 p.m. Illegal dumping. 7400 block of Ridgewood Road. Complainant came to the police department to report illegal dumping. He said he has reported several times, and finally put up a trail camera, which captured a red ford pick-up truck. Due to poor photo quality when zooming in, no license plate was able to be determined. A mattress was left behind. An officer advised complainant they would do extra patrol in the area. Complainant said he feels the majority of the issues are on the weekends.
Sept. 19
2:34 a.m. Trespass. 800 block of Dale Street E. While on patrol, female party provided male party with a trespass notice. Woman stated she had a copy of the trespass and will drop it off at the police department today to be added to the trespass advisory. Man did not sign any of the forms, but was told it was a trespass form from the woman.
