Farmers’ markets in St. Joseph, St. Cloud
Join us for the St. Joseph Farmers’ Market from 3 to 6 p.m. Fridays at the Resurrection Lutheran Church parking lot on CR 2 or the St. Cloud Area Farmers’ Market from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays in the Lady Slipper parking lot, Seventh Avenue S., downtown St Cloud. Experience the joy of getting your produce and artisan goods directly from our local growers and makers. You will find a wide variety of items from vegetables, fruit, flowers, eggs, meat, bread, coffee, honey, maple syrup, herbs and spices to soaps, lotions, candles, wool, jewelry and much more. These family-friendly farmers’ markets have something for everyone to enjoy.
Erinys Quartet to perform this Saturday
Erinys Quartet, sponsored by the Chamber Music Society of St. Cloud, will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 in St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1111 Cooper Ave. S., St. Cloud. Named for the Erinyes (a.k.a. the Furies) from the Greek tragedy Oresteia by Aeschylus, and with roots in Estonia, Lithuania, Greece, the United States and Finland, the Erinys Quartet was founded in 2018 at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki where they worked closely with cellist Marko Ylönen. SSFD 75th event postponed to Oct. 12
The St. Stephen Fire Department 75th anniversary celebration will be held from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 in Smoley Park/Lions Park, St. Stephen. The event was postponed due to the tragic death of firefighter Jason Trobec.
League of Women Voters to host candidate forum
The League of Women Voters, St. Cloud Area will sponsor a candidate forum for Minnesota House District 13 from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the Sartell Community Center, 850 19th St. S., Sartell. All candidates on the Nov. 5 ballot have been invited: for District 13A, Cindy Aho and Lisa Demuth; and for District 13B, Dusty Bolstad and Tim O’Driscoll. LWVSCA will co-sponsor the event with The Arc Minnesota. The general public is invited to attend and submit written questions. Questions may be submitted in advance to lwvstcloud@lwvmn.org no later than midnight Sunday, Oct. 13.
