A new, revitalized Joetown Tourism Group is about to be organized, starting with a kick-off meeting at the House Food and Tap restaurant at 6 p.m. Monday, June 23.
All business owners in the city are invited to attend the meeting.
“We’re fired up and we hope you are too,” said BriAnne Hern, a co-owner of Food and Tap along with her husband, Craig.
Hern said the new business-driven team will focus on promoting all of the people, places and businesses in St. Joseph, forging connections and raising the city’s visibility in an effective way.
“We believe when we work together, everyone wins,” Hern said. “Whether you’re a downtown shop, a manufacturer or part of the monastery, you’re part of what makes this town special. We want to highlight long-standing staples and new folks on the scene. We want to share stories, collaborate on campaigns and create a Joetown brand that truly reflects the magic here.”
At the June 23 meeting participants will focus on the group’s long-term vision, create a 12-month plan and explain how the revitalized group will bring productive results.
“We’re not doing this through the city,” Hern said. “We’re doing this with you. This isn’t just another meeting. It’s the beginning of something powerful, and we’d love for you to be there.”
The Food and Tap restaurant, which opened last March, is located at 13 Second Ave. NW just north of West Minnesota Street, which is St. Joseph’s main street.
The House Food and Tap features four separate restaurants under one roof: Eminent Coffee, Birdie’s Pizza and Garden Bar, 98 Hawaiian Grill and Joetown Smashburgers.
