The results of a “hotel study” for Sartell revealed there is definitely a demand for a second hotel in the city in addition to the AmericInn.

In June, “Everything Sartell” commissioned a study on whether another hotel is needed. “Everything Sartell” is a partnership between the city’s Economic Development Commission and its Convention and Visitors’ Bureau.

The study found there is strong support for a 70- to 90-room hotel in the city, possibly located in the Hwy. 15 corridor area or perhaps along Pinecone Road.

Such support came from athletic officials who noted the increasing number of out-of-towners coming to Sartell for the Pinecone Park tournaments and for events at the Scheels Athletic Complex. Additional support came from businesses who host weddings, such as Blackberry Ridge Golf Course, as well as from the Sartell health-care campus and those who host special events and conventions throughout the city.

The next step in the process is to share the study results with potential developers who might consider building a hotel in Sartell.

Details of the study can be found on the Sartell Facebook site.
