Many motorists on Sartell’s Second Street might do a double-take when they pass by Sartell Pediatrics and see in front of it by the street a big sign saying Zarminali Pediatrics.
No, Sartell Pediatrics hasn’t moved. It’s developed a partnership with the Chicago-based Zarminali Pediatrics, a multi-specialty group with about two dozen clinics in eight states and more to follow this year. The one now in Sartell is the first in Minnesota, the other states being Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas.
Zarminali is pronounced “zahr-mee-NAH-lee.”
Sartell Pediatrics was founded in 2012 by Dr. David Smith in a refurbished bank building at 111 Second St. S. Smith and his staff will continue to provide care at the clinic, and patients will be able to see their same clinicians. In addition, the clinic will retain its same phone number, hours of business and will accept the same insurance plans its clients have used previously.
“Zarminali Pediatrics’ mission isn’t to just treat patients – it’s about fostering healthier futures for children and empowering families with the resources they need,” Smith said. “We’re excited to continue to serve the community by being part of Zarminali.”
Like the care provided for years by Sartell Pediatrics, Zarminali offers services for infants, children, adolescents and young adults and parents in the areas of physical health, clinical psychology, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology and marriage/family therapy.
The name “Zarminali” is derived from the word “Zarmina,” which means “something more precious than gold,” in this case children – their ongoing health and happiness.
The founder and chief executive officer of Zarminali Pediatrics is Danish Qureshi.
“Zarminali is designed by parents like myself who have struggled against the current flaws of our health-care system and know that every child deserves amazing care, from birth to adulthood,” Qureshi said. “After navigating the broken system with my daughter, I wanted to apply my experience transforming outpatient mental-health care to improving pediatric care on a national scale.”
