District Audit Report:

  • The audit of the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022 has been completed. Nancy Schulzetenberg from BerganKDV presented audit findings.

Superintendent / Student Representative Report:

  • Superintendent Ridlehoover reported on happenings around the district. National Bullying Prevention Day was Oct. 19. Many of our students and staff wore orange and discussed the importance of being kind and taking care of one another. Sartell-St. Stephen has recently been recognized as a Kognito Champion school district. We are one of only six districts in the state with this designation. In addition to this, and because of the schools’ efforts, Dr. Ridlehoover has been asked to participate in a panel discussion/interview regarding our work around mental health recognition and resource awareness. The district recently had 300 students (and several staff) attend the Exploring Potential Interests and Careers (EPIC) Event at St. Cloud Technical and Community College. The annual Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity Breakfast was held on Nov. 2. This event also attracted a very large crowd as we celebrated the accomplishments of the Habitat projects (including SabreCON) and raised money to assist in getting families into affordable housing. Ridlehoover is a member of the statewide Legislative Action teams – both the Federal Advocacy and MASA Finance Platform development teams. He’s attended committee meetings where both the education policy and education finance platforms are being developed. He reported on the MASA Legislative Finance Committee. It’s a budget year at the Capital. Our special education cross subsidy for ISD 748 is $3.1 million. Inflation is a real concern. He met with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization. Activities Director Thompson and SHS Principal Kusler along with Superintendent Ridlehoover all attended the annual fall meeting of the Central Lakes Conference. This meeting took place in Brainerd and consisted of activities directors, principals and superintendents representing the nine conference schools. On Nov. 11, Ridlehoover said he attended another incredible Veterans Day program at Sartell Middle School. Once again, this program exceeded all expectations and we can all be proud of our students as their program demonstrated their respect, appreciation and admiration of the veterans in our community. A special thank you should be given to Lori Dornburg for coordinating the event again this year. Updated progress with respect to our EESE action steps and details can be found on our website.

Superintendent Ridlehoover read the student report on behalf of Student Representative Benjamin Thompson who compiled all the exciting celebrations and events taking place at each site and across the district.

School Board Committee Report:

  • Snoberger and Meling shared information from the Communication/Technology Committee Meeting. At the meeting Director of Technology Kyle Breitkreutz reported on the technology audit and the importance of making technology safe. They implemented a two-factor authentication and minimized websites for access. Communications Coordinator Sarah Kleppe talked about the district Newsletter and how we are using it/better uses for it. The local paper, Newsleader, doesn’t reach everyone the district needs to reach outside the immediate area. Whitebox videos have been fantastic. Discussion also took place on how to publicize the districts new Vision, Mission and Strategic Plan.
  • Moehrle reported the happenings from the October and November Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Meetings. At the October meeting, each site talked about its Social Emotional curriculum and the importance of using common language across each site. During the November meeting, Dr. Megan Rogholt, director of teaching and learning, Marie Pangerl, district assessment coordinator and executive assistant to the superintendent, and principals shared the districts World’s Best Workforce Strategic Plan and action steps to help us meet our goals.
  • Byrd reported out on the Community Technology Education (CTE) Committee. This committee is continually seeking new local business partnerships. They conducted a “soft skills survey” which essentially asks business owners, “What skills do students need when they enter the workforce?”

A motion was made by Moehrle and seconded by Nies to APPROVE PERSONNEL OMNIBUS RESOLUTION #1-37:
