A Sartell woman walking on Second Street South was struck and killed Thursday night.
Nadia Filsmyer, 37, was struck in the traffic lane and died at the scene, according to Sartell police.
When officers arrived on the scene at Second Street South and Horizon Avenue, several firefighters were on the scene tending to the victim.
Michelle Anderson, 47, was driving west on Second Street when the accident happened about 8:45 p.m., according to Sartell police. Anderson was not injured and no impairment was observed by officers, according to police.
Assisting the Sartell Police Department was the Sartell Fire Department, Waite Park Police Department, Stearns County Sheriff’s Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Mayo Ambulance.
The accident remains under investigation and the Midwest Medical Examiners office will be performing an autopsy.
