Elijah Mixteco, son of Rachael and Francisco Mixteco, St. Joseph, recently competed with Granite City Aquatics who represented central Minnesota on Team Minnesota at Zones in Kansas. Minnesota came in second place overall. Mixteco is a seventh-grader at Kennedy Community School in St. Joseph.

Nicholas Drew of St. Joseph was recently named to the spring dean’s list at Luther College, Decorah, Iowa. Students must earn a semester minimum grade-point average of 3.5 to qualify for this honor.

Abby Legatt of Sartell was recently named vice president of business services at St. Cloud Financial Credit Union’s. Business services is currently the fastest-growing division of the credit union. The department encompasses all products and services centered on business, commercial and SBA lending.

United Way of Central Minnesota will receive $820,088 a year for the next three years, with the possibility for a three-year extension, through a Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers Cohort 9 Grant. These federal and state funds support students enrolled in after-school and out-of-school programming at St. Cloud Apollo High School, St. Cloud Technical High School, Sauk Rapids-Rice High School and St. Cloud North Junior High School.
