Aug. 14
10:10 p.m. Traffic stop. Twin Rivers Court/Le Sauk Drive. Officers were patrolling the area when they observed a vehicle with expired registration and initiated a traffic stop. The driver stated the car belonged to their sister and they were working on getting the tabs renewed. The driver also stated they did not have a valid driver’s license and there was no insurance on the vehicle. The officer issued a citation for driving without a license and gave a verbal warning for no proof of insurance.
Aug. 15
3 p.m. Theft. 21 CR 120. Officers were dispatched for a theft complaint. The victim stated they were in the self-checkout when they forgot to collect their change, roughly $60. The victim shortly returned to the store and found the cash was gone. Officers checked surveillance video and learned the customer behind the victim took the cash and left the store without finding an employee. Officers were able to identify the suspect and contacted them at their home in Sartell. The suspect admitted to being at the store and taking the money. The victim did not wish to pursue charges, but just wanted the money back. The money was returned to its owner.
Aug. 19
5:52 p.m. Trespassing. Sartell Street E. Officers were on patrol when they noticed a man fishing past the no trespass signs for Eagle Creek Electric. The man was advised of his violation and agreed to pack his things and leave. Verbal warning given.
Aug. 21
1:02 p.m. Threats. Lowell Lane. Officers responded to a threat’s complaint. The complainant stated she has been receiving threatening messages by her boyfriend’s ex. The complainant stated this has been an ongoing issue for months, including threats against her family. Officers listened to the voicemails and did not hear anything deemed to be threatening. Officers encouraged the caller to continue to block all unknown numbers and to consider applying for a harassment order against the suspect.
Aug. 23
11:45 p.m. Noise complaint. Perimeter Drive. Officers were dispatched to a noise complaint. Officers arrived and could hear music being played from outside the home. Officer spoke with the homeowner who stated it was their kids who were listening to the music. The homeowner stated they would keep the music down.
Aug. 25
5:50 p.m. Animal bite. Eighth Avenue N. Officers were called regarding a dog bite. The caller stated their son was delivering popcorn as part of a fundraiser, when a dog in the yard ran up to him unprovoked and bit the boy in the leg. Officers spoke with the homeowner who was apologetic for the situation. The homeowner was advised the dog would need to be in quarantine for the next 10 days. The dog was up to date on all their vaccines.
Aug. 28
12:30 a.m. Property damage. Seventh Street S. Officers were dispatched to a property damage call. The caller reported seeing a person wearing all black leaving the scene after throwing a rock at their house. The rock was about the size of a softball and damaged the siding. Officers searched the neighborhood but were unable to locate anyone in the area. The report was documented for insurance purposes.
Sept. 1
12:38 a.m. Juvenile problem. Blackberry Circle. Officers responded to a report of juveniles ringing doorbells and running away. Officers arrived in the area and found one of the juveniles hiding behind a parked vehicle. The officer spoke with the boy who admitted he and his two friends had been ringing doorbells. Officers contacted their parents and advised them of the situation. The juveniles were told to head home and talk with their parents.
Sept. 3
11:08 a.m. Traffic stop. CR 120/Connecticut Avenue. Officers were on patrol when they noticed a vehicle displaying expired registration. The officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver. The driver was given a verbal warning for the expired registration.
Sept. 5
2:12 p.m. Animal complaint. Third Avenue N. School staff spoke with the school resource officer regarding a fox that has been wandering in the woods between Riverview and the Middle School. The fox appeared to be limping and was acting differently from previous encounters. Officers spoke with the DNR who came out to look at the fox and advised it should be dispatched after school hours.
Sept. 7
7:21 p.m. Noise complaint. Riverside Avenue N. Officers were dispatched to a noise complaint. The caller reported loud music coming from Watab Park and they were having a hard time putting their kids to bed. Officers learned the party did have a permit for the music and was over by 8 p.m.
Sept. 8
3:44 p.m. 911 hang-up. 10th Street S. Officers responded to a 911 hang-up. Officers arrived to find the homeowner and their family in the garage, healthy and unharmed. Officers informed the homeowner of the call, who confirmed the phone number. The homeowner stated his children were playing with his Apple watch and must have accidentally called 911. Due to nothing criminal officers cleared.
