From front to back, Cailin and Avery Nothnagel and Aaliyah Mixteco are banished like criminals to the back seat of a St. Joseph Police Department squad car Aug. 7 during National Night Out. The Morningside Loop Group of St. Joseph invited Police Chief Pete Jansky and members of the St. Joseph Volunteer Firefighters to a gathering of 40 neighbors who joined in for a potluck. The group did end up in a family’s garage for awhile because of a brief but intense storm earlier that evening. For an additional photo of the event, visit www.thenewsleaders.com.

Here is the National Night Out pictures from The Morningside Loop Group in St. Joseph. It’s was a nice way to meet three new families around our neighborhood and we plan on making this a yearly tradition. We were so thankful for the last chance to see Chief Pete before his retirement and for the fire department for lifting the kids up and through the fire trucks.

Special special thanks to Chief Pete and the Firemen for making a night full of cheers and happy little kids!
