Translator needed

Help battered women and their children get the help they need to live in safety. An interpreter provides access to services at Anna Marie’s for women where limited English creates a barrier. Responsibilities include assist with client/advocate communication, complete forms, intake and goal setting, and assist with communication with local service agency. This volunteer opportunity is open to female, adult volunteers. The volunteer will need to be fluent in English and in Spanish. Anna Marie’s advocates would like to be able to schedule appointments with the interpreter for weekdays as the need arises. It would help if the volunteer interpreter could be On Call for new resident crisis situations to help our advocates respond to women’s needs. Number of hours per week will vary. Confidentiality needs to be honored.
