Hurrah of our mayor, Joe Perske. He is listening to over 70 percent of the voters in Sartell and their desire for a community center. Smaller towns than ours have them, like Monticello. So can we.
I remember many years ago when more than 90 percent of voters came out during stormy weather and 66 percent of them voted to have our own independent school district. Today I saw on Page 5 of the Sartell High School Sabre Spotlight newspaper that 2012 test results met or exceeded state standards in math and reading. That is very impressive.
Our current senior citizens and all voters can also support our mayor. Fall season brings color all around. We see many acorns gathered by busy squirrels. From their endeavors a mighty oak tree can grow. That’s an accomplishment we can all do a step at a time.
