In growing up on a small farm, with first the Depression and then World War II, we learned to become self sufficient, considerate of others and patient. I hope we are not again in those difficult times.
In Trump’s first months, he is preparing many regulations I never expected to experience in the United States.
I did not vote for Trump but understand and agree with much of his “playbook,” if administered properly.
I especially agree with his new Department of Government Efficiency. If properly applied it would greatly reduce our expanding debt.
We have two major political parties who were chosen by their constituents to propose and pass laws to benefit everyone. They are expected to study and support these laws with an independent mind, and not outside political pressure. We have courts set up to interpret these passed laws and settle any dispute without political favor or outside pressure.
My concern is how other world powers will accept and respond to our new type of government. I am patiently waiting to see the results.
