I agree with Ron Scarbro’s column. When I was a boy in the 50s/60s, everyone was conservative, at least that I knew. We lived conservative values of responsibility, ownership, freedoms and the pursuit of collective opportunities. We wanted nothing from our government but the hands-off freedoms to pursue our chosen paths without intrusion or oversight.
To have to take a handout was a family embarrassment and all toil was noble! That excluded the left-coast radical fringe that found identity in raging against the machine and introducing anarchy. Now, the Left is totally radical, and the media is complicit to the point of to-your-face lying!
Obama is an enemy of this state and our way of life! Were he and Reid/Pelosi/Dodd/Schumer/Biden/Franks and others alive during Ike’s or Truman’s day, they would all be rounded up and prosecuted for treason! Every responsible citizen would rally to incarcerate them.
Our country has always warred against social/economic assaults from socialism, communism and individual-ending cultures. Sadly, we’ve produced less warriors. We can thank the media, education and entertainment sectors largely for our defeat at the battles of Congress, Supreme Court and Presidency – battlefields that will be viewed as hallowed grounds as history records the defeat of once great America!
