The youngest students in the Sartell-St. Stephen school district will move to distance learning starting Thursday, Nov. 5. Staffing shortages related to Covid-19 forced the change for pre-kindergarten through second-grade students who attend Oak Ridge Early Learning Center and Pine Meadow Primary School.
The district is running out of substitutes and is advertising for staff including teachers, paraprofessionals and food service workers.
The distance learning plan will run until Nov. 18.
Students in grades three through 12 will continue in a hybrid mode, which alternates in-person instruction with distance learning.
