April 19

5:04 p.m. Road rage. 1000 block of Second Street S. Officers were dispatched to a local business for a road rage incident that was occurring in the parking lot. It was determined one person was driving at a high rate of speed through the parking lot and almost hit another vehicle. One of the drivers approached the other driver in a vehicle and was banging on their vehicle. Officers attempted to make contact with the driver of the second vehicle involved but were unable to.

5:30 p.m. Welfare check. Connecticut Avenue S. Officers were dispatched for a person who was said to have dementia and had left a local business in a vehicle and was not supposed to be driving. It was also determined the person may have been involved in a crash in a neighboring city but was not located. Several hours later, the person was located in their vehicle by another law-enforcement agency outside of Sartell. The person’s family was contacted and they responded to claim their vehicle.

April 20

5:46 p.m. Suspicious vehicle. 700 block 12th Street N. While on patrol, an officer located a group of juveniles who were under the age of 18 and smoking e-cigarettes. Upon further investigation, the officer also located marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle they were in. The juveniles were issued citations for tobacco use under age 18, possession of small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. All juveniles were released to their parents/guardians.

10:16 p.m. Traffic stop. Hwy. 15/CR 120. While on patrol, an officer observed a vehicle make a U-turn, driving the wrong way in a round-a-bout. Upon further investigation, it was determined the driver of the vehicle had a suspended license. The driver was issued a citation for driving after suspension and given a verbal warning for their driving conduct. The driver was advised to find a valid driver to remove the vehicle from the roadway.

April 21

2:49 p.m. Intoxicated person. 200 block of Seventh Ave. S. Officers were dispatched to assist with an intoxicated person who refused to get out of a vehicle after they had gotten a ride home. It was determined the person’s residence was in a neighboring city and not Sartell. A taxi was called to transport the person to their correct address safely. No further assistance was needed from police.

10:39 a.m. Vehicle crash with injury. CR 78/Second Street S. Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash with injured occupants. It was determined one of the vehicles failed to stop at a stop sign, crashing into another vehicle. Airbags were deployed and one of the drivers was injured. The driver of the striking vehicle was issued a citation for failure to stop at a stop sign and the vehicles were removed from the roadway.

April 22

2:16 p.m. Lost juvenile. 1200 block of Fourth Ave. N. Officers were dispatched for a missing juvenile from a residence who was last seen riding a bicycle. A bloodhound K9 was called in to assist in the search as well as the Sartell Fire department. A short time later, the child was located by officers with a friend a few blocks away. The juvenile was returned home.

11:26 p.m. Suspicious vehicle. 1100 block of 27th Street N. While on patrol, a Reserve Officer located an occupied vehicle with no lights on, parked near a school. The occupants stated they were there to look at the stars. They were told they could not be on the school property after hours and their behavior was suspicious. The vehicle left the area without incident.

April 23

11:44 a.m. Domestic in progress. Victory Avenue. Officers were dispatched to a physical domestic disturbance between two persons at a residence. It was determined the suspect had left the scene prior to officer arrival. The victim sustained minor injuries. The following day, the suspect was located and interviewed by officers. The suspect was then placed under arrest and charged with domestic assault. The suspect was transported to jail without incident.

April 24

13:50 p.m. Motorist assist. Hwy. 15/CR 120. While on patrol, an officer located a bus pulled to the side of the road with their hazard lights flashing. The officer made contact with the occupants who advised a person on the bus had gone into a seizure and was waiting for another vehicle to arrive to transport the person back to their residence. The person advised they did not need to be seen by an ambulance and no other assistance was needed.

4:07 p.m. Shoplifting in progress. CR 120. Officers were dispatched to a local business for a report of a person who was shoplifting and leaving the building on foot. Officers arrived and obtained a description of the person. Officers checked the area and located the suspect in a nearby business. The suspect was arrested for multiple warrants, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was transported to jail without incident.

April 25

12:03 a.m. Driving complaint. Hwy. 15/CR 120. Officers were dispatched for a vehicle that was seen driving northbound in the southbound lanes of traffic. Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the driver who advised they were confused, lost and normally aren’t driving at night and in the rain. The driver was escorted by officers to their address.
