Crime Stoppers offers rewards up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a crime.

Oct. 10

11:55 p.m. Suspicious activity. Riverside Avenue N. Dispatch was notified of several vehicles parked at the Rotary Park along with four to five people who did not appear to be fishing. The caller called dispatch a short time later asking where officers were, and that it sounded verbal now between the people. Dispatch informed the caller three officers were responding but it only had been a few minutes, and they were on their way. The officer found three vehicles and several people upon arrival. The officer noted no one was yelling when they arrived. The officer spoke to a male who stated he had pulled into the park to check on his truck tire and had found a bald spot. The male then called some people to come help him find a service place that was open this late. The male did state he had gotten upset and did do some yelling. The male confirmed with the officer everything was OK and they would be leaving shortly.

Oct. 11

11:39 a.m. Information call. First Street NE. Dispatch advised a Sartell Officer to call the business as they had information they wanted to pass along. The officer spoke to the complainant who stated they had an odd phone call earlier. The caller stated they were a doctor and gave the clinic name they worked at and that they were phoning a prescription in. The employee stated the phone call seemed off and didn’t seem right. After the phone call ended the employee called the clinic that they were told the doctor worked at. They were informed that doctor hadn’t worked there for a while. The clinic worker also stated wthis wasn’t the first call they have received about this today.

Oct. 12

7:15 p.m. Hazard. Hwy. 15/CR 1. An officer was dispatched to the area of the listed intersection for a report of a dump truck partially in the lane of traffic. The officer arrived in the area and was unable to locate the dump truck causing the hazard.

Oct. 13

9:53 p.m. Alarm. Riverside Avenue S. Officers were dispatched to an audible burglary alarm covering the front door at a business. Officers checked the building, building was secure and no keyholders were responding. Nothing further.

Oct. 14

11:04 a.m. Abandoned bike. Cheval Drive. Dispatch informed an officer of a children’s bike which was located at the above location. The officer arrived and it looked as if the bike had been there for a period of time. The officer relocated the bike to the Sartell Police Department’s safe-keeping area.

Oct. 15

1:06 p.m. Avalon Court. Suspicious rerson. Dispatch notified officers about a male talking to himself and sitting in a yard. The officer was able to locate the male on the walking path. The male verbally identified himself and claimed to be singing and sitting in the grass. He stated he was staying at a friend’s house. The officer advised the male that someone had called about him because of his strange behavior. The male stated he would head back into his friend’s house.

Oct. 16

9:21 p.m. Juvenile problem. CR 120. Dispatch had an officer respond to the business to meet with the complainant. The complainant reported there were several kids who were in the store and got kicked out for causing damage. The juveniles were then in the parking lot moving around the cart corrals. The complainant stated nothing was damaged and wanted law enforcement to be aware in case they came back, or other issues arise.

Oct. 17

11:42 a.m. Disorderly. Twin Rivers Court. An officer was dispatched to a disorderly male throwing coffee on a business’s windows. The officer arrived and spoke to a female employee. The employee told the officer she got a phone call telling her she had two minutes to get outside with another coffee because he wasn’t going to wait in line again, then hung up. Moments later, a customer called in and said that a guy was throwing coffee up against their windows. The caller stated it was a male driving a white truck. The officer checked the outside of the building and found coffee thrown about. The business told the officer if the male and white truck were gone, they didn’t need anything further.

Oct. 18

8:49 AM. Special detail. Second Street N. A Sartell police officer went to the school and presented a safety talk to the kindergartners with the Sartell Fire Department.

Oct. 19

5:58 p.m. Burn. Dukes Court. An officer was dispatched to a residence for a burning complaint of leaves. The complainant also stated a single teenage male was sitting next to the fire, burning leaves in a burn ring. The officer advised him he cannot burn leaves in a fire pit in town. The juvenile understood.

Oct. 20

12:50 p.m. Elevator alarm. Connecticut Avenue. An officer was dispatched to an elevator alarm at a business. Upon arriving on scene, the officer was advised by the Sartell Fire Marshal there was no issue, and he would be contacting building maintenance. Nothing further by the officer.

Oct. 21

12:56 p.m. Obstruction. Pinecone Road S. The Sartell Police Department received a call about tree branches in the lane of traffic near the intersection. An officer responded to the area and removed the branches from the roadway without any issues.

Oct. 22

11:42 AM. Apprehension and detention order. First St NE. Sartell Officers were notified to meet a probation agent across the street to speak. The officers were informed the probation officer was there to pick up an individual who had violated conditions of release. The probation officer had the individual exit the apartment without problems. The officers placed the individual into custody and brought them to the Stearns County Jail to be held for court.

Oct. 23

10:01 p.m. Shoplifting. CR 120. An officer was dispatched to the business for a cooperative shoplifter. When the officer arrived, he was informed a female was caught for swapping price tags on merchandise. The theft value was $809 worth of merchandise. The business wanted to move forward with gross misdemeanor theft charges but did not trespass the individual.

Oct. 24

6:02 p.m. Suspicious smell. Riverside Avenue N. Dispatch received a call stating there was a group of males playing basketball in the park and smoking marijuana. The officer arrived on scene and saw a group of males. The officer noted he did not detect the smell of marijuana in the air. The officer asked the males if they were smoking marijuana and the males stated no. Nothing further by the officer.

Oct. 25

10:55 a.m. Crash. Connecticut Avenue. An officer was requested to respond to a two-vehicle accident in a parking lot without injuries. The officer arrived and spoke to one driver who stated the other driver backed into her. The officer spoke to a witness who stated both parties were backing up at the same time and then hit each other. The driver of the other vehicle came back out after an appointment and explained her side of the story. The officer helped both parties exchange information.
