Jan. 7
11:01 p.m. Suspicious incident. Riverside Avenue N. Officers were on routine patrol when they came across two vehicles in the park after hours. The officer spoke with the drivers and verbally warned them the park was closed. The vehicles left shortly after.

Jan. 8
9:02 a.m. Suspicious vehicle. Twin Rivers Court. The caller stated there was a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. Officers arrived and saw the vehicle attempting to leave. The officer spoke with the driver who stated they were there for about 30 minutes making a phone call after leaving a friend’s house. The officer asked the driver to leave, and the driver went on their way.

Jan. 10
3:50 p.m. Finance scam. Victory Avenue. The caller reported they received a phone call from someone claiming to be with their bank. The person on the phone advised the victim their name was related to a child pornography charge and needed to pay the fine. The suspect told the victim to go to the bank and withdraw thousands of dollars and put it into a bitcoin machine. Officers advised the victim this was a scam. No suspects currently.

Jan. 12
5:13 p.m. CR 1/Hwy. 15. Crash. Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash in the area. The first driver stated they were in the right lane heading south on Hwy. 15, when they were struck by another vehicle from behind. The driver of the second vehicle stated they were unsure if they hit an ice patch or were not able to stop in time. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Jan. 15
4:46 a.m. Traffic stop. Riverside Avenue. Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle displaying expired registration. The officer stopped the vehicle and told the driver about the violation. The driver stated they learned the registration was expired about a week ago but did not receive notice of it needing to be renewed. The officer told the driver it was their responsibility to make sure their registration is current and issued a citation for the violation.

Jan. 17
5:19 p.m. Civil matter. The caller stated their ex was supposed to drop off their children at a certain time but never arrived. The caller stated they did get a text from the ex who stated they were late heading back from the Twin Cities, to which the caller felt like this was a violation of the custody agreement. The officer stated since the children were not in any danger this was a civil matter. The caller was advised to speak with their attorney if they felt this was a violation. The caller understood and wanted the incident documented.

Jan. 19
2:20 p.m. Suspicious incident. 251 CR 120. Officers were on patrol and noticed a vehicle parked behind a dumpster next to a construction site. The vehicle was unoccupied, and the hood was cold. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate anyone. The construction gate was also secure, so officers cleared.
