RE: A murder mystery-fun for all ages: National Nursing Home Week celebrated with a twist (Friday, June 8, 2012 Sartell Newsleader).
I spent six years in the funeral business, (three in Obituaries at the St. Cloud Times and three at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Homes) and am morally obligated to express my feelings on this event.
Murder is NOT a game, nor is it a “fun event.” For so many families it is their reality…a horrific event. My mentor and friend, Tom, may never find the culprit who brutally murdered his daughter.
I would question the integrity of Country Manor and any nurse who participated in this “celebration.” To make a mockery of death does not establish a strong moral compass. The irony of Country Manor’s mission “…of enriching the quality of life for the individuals and families we serve exudes the staple of this year’s National Nursing
Home Week through the commitment of honoring and cherishing each individual life’s journey is celebrated.” It seems this “fun-for-all-ages” event is the antithesis of “honoring and cherishing” life.
I am hopeful you will pass along my thoughts to whomever created this event.
