A few weeks back someone busted up a bench in front of the co-op that my wife had installed in memory of her loving sister Patty Reber. Patty, as most all the locals knew, was a very friendly person who loved to go uptown to visit with all. She would stop, rest a while on one of the many benches that were in front of most businesses at the time before going on to more friends. Once she met someone she never forgot their name. What a memory!! Well it happened again. In less than a week after Ellie had a new, very sturdy bench installed in front of the co-op, not only did someone bust this one up, they also stole the small memory plaque on it. So I ask anyone…do we now just allow this hurtful and disrespectful behavior to continue? And what kind of person(s) does this?
